Iggy Azalea - Change Your Life (feat. T.I.)

First off, let me apologize for the prolonged absence from Teen Dreamin'. I suppose for me to really be inspired to write I need to be in a certain state of mind, a state of mind I lacked the whole summer. But that's a story not important to what's going on right now. I think I needed a trigger to really inspire me to write and it was Iggy Azalea's latest single, and more importantly her music video for 'Change Your Life' which had me ready to type away. Off her upcoming debut studio album The New Classic (such an on point name), 'Change Your Life' is a hell of a single to compete with the likes of her past efforts 'Work', 'Murda Bizness', and  'Pussy', but this single and video no doubt have Iggy all over the scene and a guaranteed artist who's moved past the ever-so-daunting one-hit wonder stigma. Singing on repeat "I'm a change your life", Iggy let's us all know the ultimate truth, she is changing our lives, or at least mine. Full of visuals that'll have you on the edge of your seat, this stunning video has everything we want in a music video; boobs, insane fashion, a car on fire, an arrest, burlesque dancers, fire, and a baby tiger. So far from normal, yet being obsessed seems like an understatement.

If it wasn't her songs that caught your attention recently, then it could very well have been her numerous appearances at this years New York Fashion Week. Sitting front row at shows like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jeremy Scott, Dion Lee, and many more, Iggy has now earned the greatest gift any artist could ever get, a special place in the hearts of fashion's finest. Already this month you can find Iggy on the cover of fashion magazines POP and Oyster and I'm sure it won't be her last.

Babe Watch: Jawbreaker's Julie Freeman

"I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with it!" Words uttered by Rose McGowans iconic character Courtney, the ultimate high school bitch to put it lightly. With honorable mention to Rose McGowan's superb performance in the 90s teenage black comedy drama Jawbreaker, it's Rebecca Gayheart's character Julie Freeman who should not go unnoticed as a Grade A babe. From the very beginning we get a sense of Julie; a troubled young teen who is wrongly influenced by the popular girls but is ultimately taken aback by her own morals to follow through with their mischievous plans. By the end of the film Julie completely transforms from a quiet good girl to a revenge-seeking teen dream babe with a killer sense of style. After the jump is a compilation of Julie's greatest looks. I guess in the end Courtney wasn't right after all. She didn't kill the teen dream, the teen dream actually made sure she got her just desserts.

The Bling Ring | Trailer

Showcasing the famed Bling Ring robberies of 2009, Sophia Coppola's new film takes a look at the celebrity-obsessed, young and rebellious suburban LA teens of the famed group who robbed millions of dollars worth of jewelry, clothing, and cash from the likes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, and many more (check out this link for an in-depth look). While most of these bratty teens earned their 15 minutes of fame, it was Alexis Neyers who really got most of the limelight thanks to her E! reality show, Pretty Wild, which followed her and her family through the drama of it all. Playing Alexis, actress Emma Watson perfectly embodies the bratty teen we always knew in life, along with the rest of her cast of up-incoming actors who's portrayal of valley girls (and one valley boy) is so on-point I can see flashbacks of certain individuals from back in my high school days. Aside from everything else though, it's beyond apparent this film is a grade A Teen Dreamin'-approved feature that should not be missed if you take joy in watching corrupt suburban rich teens displaying an obsession for the limelight... Which I love oh so much.

Stranger than Paradise | Tilda Swinton shot by Tim Walker for W Magazine May 2013

When the first grainy image of Tilda Swinton on the cover of the May 2013 issue of W leaked via twitter, I was sitting in class early in the morning in a state of exhaustion that was abruptly ended when the image finally loaded on my cellphone screen. Soon enough one by one, images from the editorial began leaking in full and I found myself in an overwhelming and overly dramatic situation. You see, my love for everything Tilda is not at all new; from the very beginning of my teenage life I found myself entranced by the one-of-a-kind creature that is Tilda Swinton (obsessed is an understatement, let's be honest). But regardless of my probable biased agenda, I think it's quite clear that Tilda's editorial spread, brought to us by the genius mind of photographer Tim Walker, is a perfect representation of when art and fashion fuse perfectly. Shot at the famed Las Pozas estate in a Mexican jungle near the town of Xilitla, the combination of Tim Walker's always-dramatic editorials, Tilda's willingness fill the roll of that crazy aunt we wish we always had, and the architecturally modern estate scenery, 'Stranger than Paradise" is for sure meeting the looks to try... forever.

Babe Watch: Clueless' Cher Horowitz

In grand anticipation I've finally decided to take on the babe that is Cher Horowitz. For those who are unaware of the ultimate teen dream Cher Horowitz, played by the blonde bombshell Alicia Silverstone, Cher is not your average wealthy Beverly Hills valley girl with great style. Cher is everything a girl should fear their boyfriends to meet because while she seems utterly flawless on the outside, she also is kinda flawless on the inside considering her confidence and kind heart seem to play a big part. But who cares about all that emotional jabber, we're hear to discuss how Cher became a style icon to millions of 90s teens and even the teen of today thanks to the cult classic Clueless. Tying together some 90's minimalistic looks with pops of color and throwing in some good-hearted emotionally-involved and looks, Cher has earned a spot at the top of my list for the babes to watch. Also let's not forget Cher's friends who have all earned spots as well in key style inspirations. Whether your a fan of Ty's grungy-skater look or Dion's classic 90's craziness, I'm sure there's someone who'll have your attention. In the off chance that you aren't inspired though, feel free to google search 'Clueless Paul Rudd'; that should get your heart pumping in no time. I'm still totally buggin' of Josh! Let's also take a moment while closing this article to remember the iconic phrase that is "AS IF!" Alright ladies (and gents), take notes!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege

As every second passes in the new music video for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs new single 'Sacrilege', off their forthcoming album, Mosquito, due April 16th, you may find yourself breaking a sweat as actress Lily Cole herself finds herself in quite an unfortunate turn of events. The video starts off with the young actress being tied at a steak about to be burned alive by the apparent crazy townspeople for no reason. That of course is until the video shifts through time backwards you slowly come to realization that maybe these people have an alternative motive and maybe the this seemingly innocent girl isn't so innocent afterall. Still by the end it's for certain this music video is a crowd pleaser.

i-D Spring 2013: Lara Stone

As part of their Spring 2013 The Q + A Issue, i-D magazine has chosen some amazing models to get some much loved exposure. While Amra Cerkezovic, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, and Reuben Ramacher have all landed covers for this issue, it's Lara Stone's cover that stuck out to me the most; and once I got a peak at what was going on inside the editorial, I found myself admitting to obsession. Shot by Tyrone Lebon, Lara's photoshoot was definitely not your average photoshoot considering that placing Lara's head on a platter of fruit was not off limits. Leave it to i-D magazine to deliver once again.
